I think she thought I was trying to poison her. I didn't get a picture of her gagging on the green beans, but I am sure you can imagine. Today was our first experience with said green beans, and we were both covered with them by the time we were done. Shelby certainly didn't like them, but she ate them. I was giggling the whole time because of the faces she was pulling. I am hoping that she will develop a taste for them soon. She started out not liking the rice cereal and now she almost eats the spoon, so I guess in time she will love green beans too.

Mother's Little Helper
We had a great St Patrick's Day! First thing in the morning the Walkers had their brand new baby boy and I am sure that he and Shelby are going to be great friends. We all got dressed up in our green to celebrate and Shelby wore her cute shamrock shirt from Jeni. It was a pretty nice day so Shelby and I went for a walk and enjoyed the sunshine. However, the thing that made this day the most exciting was this:
Shelby ate an entire ounce of rice cereal before bed!!! We have been working on eating with a spoon and she seems to have finally got it. I am thrilled beyond belief about this due to the fact that I can always use more sleep and this is exactly what rice cereal provides Ü What with the daylight savings "spring ahead", we have been working to catch up for days. I have high hopes that we can continue to enjoy this cereal for many months. My little girl is growing up!

Shelby's Blessing
We blessed Shelby on Sunday! She looked so beautiful in her dress, but she felt the dress was a shade uncomfortable. I had to explain that this would not be the last time she was uncomfortable in order to look nice. She was on her best behavior during the blessing - this was a huge relief seeing as I was afraid of having the microphone close to her so everyone could hear everything that came out of her mouth and bum. I don't know if Kelly would have been able to finish if she had tooted during the blessing Ü

After A Good Workout
We had a session of tummy time on Shelby's cute animal quilt the other day. All the animals distracted her and kept her relatively happy. Generally speaking, she doesn't enjoy tummy time too much. After we were done, I picked her up and set her blanket in this chair. I decided to put her in the chair while I got up and was talking to Kelly for a second. Next thing you know, I look over and this is how she has settled into the chair. What a crazy girl. Good thing she doesn't seem to have any problems relaxing!

Progress & Potential
Shelby is 2 months old now and she is doing great! She has started smiling a lot and has discovered that she can make lots of cute sounds too. We are even starting to see some sort of schedule to our days, which has made my life a little easier. Shelby is still not real big - but she is so much fun. She had her 2 month appointment at the doctor's and here is her progress:
2 Weeks - Length 19.75 inches 26%
2 Months - Length 21.5 inches 16%
2 Weeks - Weight 7 lbs 7 oz 21%
2 Months - Weight 10 lbs 26%
2 Weeks - Head Circ. 34.5 cm 15%
2 Months - Head Circ. 37.2 cm 11%
You may notice that the only category that is increasing is her weight. Her mom is proud that she is on her way to follow in her mother's footsteps as President of the Heavyweights Club. I just hope Baby Bella, Baby Girl Stevenson, and Baby Girl (hopefully) Russell are keeping up so the club will be complete. There is no stat for feistiness, but she has that too. Kelly is always telling me that she is her mother's child because she isn't going to do anything she doesn't want too. I couldn't be more proud!
