We have been putting in some serious practice time on this sitting up business and we are getting really close to having it down. Some days Shelby is really good at it - like in the picture. That night she sat up and played with her keys for like 60 seconds straight. The next day she didn't even last 2 seconds all day. We are trying to develop some of these special skills to show Dad, but someone is not being very cooperative. I am sure once she figures these things out and begins to be more mobile, I will wish she wasn't. She has already started doing things that she knows she isn't supposed to do just so she can see what I will do about it. Unfortunately, this reminds me a lot of a certain home movie of me as a child. Let me just say - I am in for it!

New Jammies
Shelby is growing like a weed! I swear she gets taller by the day and is seriously getting too tall for her clothes. I have even seen some difference in her pants not just her onesies, so you know this is serious. Being the great mother that I am and a lover of all things pajamas, I decided to get her all stocked up on some new jammies. I suppose she may need some actual clothes to go with all of these cute pjs, but this way at least we will match when I wear my pajamas all day Ü Some of these are 12 monthers and have little grippies on the feet - a little frightening to think that she may be walking soon. I am really not too worried seeing as we are still mastering the art of sitting, but you never know - it could happen. I think Shelby is so cute and I love trying on all of her new jammies!

Told You So
I mentioned in a post a little while ago how some day I would finish my craft projects. Well, I certainly haven't finished all of them, but I did complete one that was pressing. I have been quickly tiring of hauling around a purse and a diaper bag as well as my 17 lb child. In order to remedy the situation, I decided to make my own diaper bag that could double as a purse. I looked in my purse and decided much of what was in there was unnecessary anyway. So, with aching shoulders and a set of Kelly's old BDUs I went to the fabric store and found some cute material to go on the inside. Taa Daa!! It took some cutting and patching together to get all the components that I wanted from the uniform on the bag. The outside of the bag is my new purse. I have 3 pockets to carry my stuff. The two smaller pockets are the front of his jacket and the large cargo pocket came from his pants. When I first started, I thought I would end up with tons of leftover material, but in the end I actually used almost the entire uniform to make the bag.

4 Generations
My Grandma Jones just had her birthday last week and I thought it would be such a great idea to have a 4 generation picture while we were all together. Of course, after the birthday party when everyone had gone home I remembered that we didn't take the picture. This prompted a trip to Grandma's the next day to get the picture done. Here we all are: Karissa and Elli, Mom, Grandma, Melanie and Shelby. As you can see the two little ones were less than excited about the opportunity to have this picture taken. It has been real nice to be able to fill some of my spare time being with my family. I am sure they will be sick of me soon enough, so I have to take advantage while I can!

Pool Partay
Here is Shelby modeling her swimming suit. Karissa, Jack, and Elli helped us pick out the suit for our big pool party this last week. It was Shelby's first time "swimming". I am pretty sure that we spent more time getting ready to go swimming than actually being in the pool.
