The Fever

We definitely have World Cup Fever at our house! It has been such a good thing that Shelby is a couch potato. She really likes watching soccer!!! Ok, I don't know that she really cares what is on, she just likes watching TV. I have enjoyed watching every game I can. I am sad that there are only 6 games left. Tomorrow is the first day that there won't be a game to watch and I am not sure what I am going to do. It has been nice to have something to fill my spare time with. Shelby and I are routing for Brasil to win, but we haven't decided whether we should hope that Argentina beats Germany or not. We are still upset that Portugal didn't upset Spain today. Sometimes it is hard for Shelby to settle down for her nap because we get so worked up over the morning game Ü

6 Months Old

Shelby is a growing machine. She has also been wearing her sunglasses now that summer is here. She passed her half birthday last week and Kelly and I were looking at her pictures of when she was brand new. What a difference we see now. We were comparing how much of her carseat she filled then versus now. She is so much fun and loves to play! She talks, laughs, and makes a lot of noise. Her hair is really starting to fill in and get long. Before you know it she will be sporting piggies Ü

Shelby's Fake Laugh

Last night, for whatever reason, Shelby was bursting out with a laugh followed by this grunting sound. She did it for about 5 minutes and I thought it was so funny. As soon as I got out the camera, she stopped with the initial burst of fake laughter, but she continued with the grunting. I think this girl is too funny!

A Mover and A Shaker

Shelby has recently mastered the art of rolling over. I can no longer put her on a blanket with toys and expect that she will be there for long. The other day I did that while I was making myself a sandwich and I could here her making little sounds. When I went to check on her she had rolled into the bookcase and couldn't go any further. Also, she travels a lot in her sleep. You see that little hand up there? It seems she gravitates towards the corners of her crib. Sometimes she stuffs that hand through with the binky in it and I find the binky in the middle of the floor in the morning.

She is so much fun right now! She is learning new things everyday. She has taken an interest in playing with toys, rattles, and stuffed animals. She has also learned how to put her binky in her mouth by herself (Yay!!). She likes to play in her Jumper, however her toes just barely touch the floor so Mom still has to spin it around for her. She loves to laugh and smile and also enjoys making others do the same.

Family Fun Night

Last night we got to go and see Kelly for some Family Fun! We met him at the Readiness Center where they had a movie, games, and lots of treats. The USO treat wagon was my favorite place. They had all sorts of yummy things to eat, including Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookies!!! These have a special place in my heart so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to have some. Best of all, we got to spend some time with Kelly Ü

The time went by way too fast and the mosquitos decided to crash our party, but we had fun and enjoyed our time together. Shelby stayed up way past her bedtime, but made up for it by putting herself to bed when we got home. I fed her, changed her into her jammies, and laid her in her bed while I took out the garbage. When I got back inside, all I had to do was turn out the light! A good ending to a great night Ü
