Just Like Heaven

Today is the best day! I can't wait until 7:29 tonight - that is when Kelly comes home Ü I am so excited that the day is finally here. Plus, once he gets home we can fix the computer and I can post pictures from my fun trip. Kelly has been gone for way too long. He left clear back on the 4th and hasn't been home since. I am just watching the minutes tick off. I hate having him gone so much, but what can you do? I don't envy my sister right now because she is dropping her husband off for training and won't see him for 6 weeks. What were we thinking marrying military men?

Vegetables of Our Labor

I was so excited because I went out to my garden and there were miniature vegetable everywhere. I thought the miniature jalapenos were the cutest! I took a bunch of pictures to post so Kelly could see them, but I am having some technical difficulties with my computer and was unable to post any pictures. Hopefully, the pictures will be forthcoming. I have mini jalapenos, bell peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, and pumpkins. I also have a lot of weeds and really need to take care of them, but I am trying to promote growth so I have let them go for awhile. I can't wait to eat all the yummy things growing in the garden Ü

I Am Feeling Very Olympic Today!

Saturday was just what I needed! I woke up and had some breakfast and then turned on Olympic soccer. I watched about 4 games while crafting and only had breaks to go out and move the water or get something to eat. I pretty much watched TV from 9 am to 11 pm. I never even changed out of my pajamas! I haven't had a lazy day like that in a long time. Oh, and it was only possible because Kelly was out of town - he doesn't allow me to be that lazy. I have tried in vain to teach him the fine art of relaxation, but so far I have not made a lot of progress. I am so glad that the Olympics are on so I can watch them while I work on my afghan every night. Too bad this opportunity only comes once every 4 years Ü

Missin' my Wifey

Well, Melanie is really supposed to be the one that keeps this blog going but by the looks of things she must be retired from the blog business.

A lot has happened since the last time I wrote, this isn't an entry to update. Let's just say since the last entry, Melanie and I are seperated and I am living in California...thank goodness it is only temporary and then I will be back home with Mel in my arms.

I hate having to leave Melanie and I like having a job so I guess these little seperations are going to continue. One good thing about being away from my snuggle bug is that I only appreciate her more. I guess everyone is like that--thats where the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" comes from. I am not saying our relationship is unique or that our love is stronger than any other because everyone would disagree with that. I am only saying that I love my wife and I am so grateful that she loves me back. I am grateful that this time, we are only seperated by several hundred miles instead of several thousand. I can still talk to my sweetie on the phone and it doesn't cost $13 a minute (it was still worth it). I am glad we can still talk so Mel can still make my day better. I hope I do the same in return. I love you Melanie!

Happy Anniversary!

Last week Kelly and I celebrated our anniversary. We decided to do some of the things that we always say we are going to do, but never get around too. We had planned this whole weekend in advance and had planned on going to Lagoon on Thursday - thinking it would be the least busy day out of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We didn't realize that the 24th of July, though a Thursday, would still be quite busy. Well, we decided to go ahead with the plan. We had a great time at Lagoon and found a new favorite ride - Wicked. It was a long wait, but really fun. It looks super scary, but is not really that scary once you are on it. I thought I would need to get some clean underwear after watching it while I stood in line, but it really wasn't too bad. We really liked it and would have ridden it again, but didn't want to spend another 30 minutes in line. We also had some fun at Pioneer Village Photography. We had some really cute pictures taken of us dressed up. We had a lot of fun and nobody threw up, so for a day at Lagoon you can't really ask for much more.

Friday we went to Cherry Hill and had some fun in the water. Kelly enjoyed Cataract Canyon (aka Cardiac Canyon) and we were just about to have our turn when they shut it down. We were literally in the pool at the top and they made us get out. They said it would be closed for 30 minutes, but we left about 2 1/2 hours later and it was still closed. They drained it and Pirates Cove and were "sanitizing" something. I wasn't too interested in going down again not knowing what had happened anyway. Maybe someone dropped a Baby Ruth in the water, but it was probably something much worse. We had fun and were able to check another thing off of our list.

Saturday we drove up to Logan to go see 1776. This was done by the Utah Festival Opera and it was really good. It was a really good show, but the seats were really close together. Sitting in my seat my knees were smashed against the chair in front of me. I can't imagine how uncomfortable Kelly was because he is 8 inches taller than I am. The great news was that after intermission, the people in front of us sat somewhere else and it made it a lot more comfortable. We went to dinner with my sister and her family since we were up in Logan and it was fun to get to spend some time with them.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed being able to spend a long weekend together. Only 364 days till the next anniversary!
