We had our Easter celebration a little early this year. I got some things for Shelby a while back before I knew we wouldn't be at our house on Easter. I decided that we could celebrate privately and do it on General Conference Sunday. Shelby had a great time looking for the eggs and once she figured out that she could get them and put them in her bucket - nothing could stop her. She has been playing with these eggs all day and last night I finally put them away. I was sick of having them spread all over the place all the time. I am turning into my mother.
She was also quite excited about finding the candy in the eggs. Even after we had emptied them all she keep opening them up and looking inside, hoping to find some more. I don't think she even realized it was something to eat, she just like finding stuff inside. After she got busy playing with other things, I put all the candy in the dish on the table and I guess she hasn't missed it too much. It is quite tasty though. For me, you can't have an egg hunt without having Bunny Munny! Being the competitive accountant that I am, I would always add up the monetary value on my coins and make sure that I had more than my brothers and sister.
I made Shelby this Hippo which she loves to lay on. It was a little more difficult than I was anticipating to sew all the little body parts. I think it turned out, but I am not sure that I will be making more of these. We will just have to see.
We balanced out all the candy with a delicious pork roast, rice, carrots and applesauce for dinner. We had rainbow sherbet for dessert. It was a nice day and we were even able to have our own Easter miracle. Shelby walked! She took 4 steps and then started teetering, she caught her balance and took another 4 steps. She was so excited and so was I! We are still working on it, but I think she will be walking soon Ü
